RECYCLED STREETS, 2011
Photography, Mixed Media
A series of 3 street photographs printed on recycled paper, and framed in recycled frames out of old magazine racks.
The concept of this mini series is inspired by different materials I’v come across while walking down these streets. These streets with old buildings holding such history are streets that you’d only find on them the faces of elderly people from the past generation, still enjoying them and having memories of their youth spent on these same streets. The project as a whole represents these buildings and streets as parts of the city that are left almost falling apart. They can be rebuilt. No need to modernize and rebuild them as big fancy expensive towers, instead they could remain as beautiful and authentic as they are, but just could use a little bit more fixing up. Like recycled art, from what they are, to something better.
